Scott Sorenson

Fire Chief

Scott began his fire service career in 1979 as a volunteer with Fire District 3. Hired in 1982, he served as a career Firefighter/EMT, Lieutenant, Captain, Division Chief, Deputy Chief, and Assistant Chief. He also served as a Volunteer EMT (North Country EMS), Volunteer Firefighter (Clark County Fire District 10), and Wildland Firefighter (Washington Department of Natural Resources).

Scott holds a Master’s of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (Warner Pacific College), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Warner Pacific College), and an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Protection Technology (Portland Community College), and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1980.

Scott is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Washington State Association of Fire Chiefs. He also has served as an Adjunct Instructor at Portland Community College and Operations Section Chief with Washington Incident Management Teams.

Chris Drone

Division Chief/Fire Marshal

Chris Drone has been selected as the first Fire Marshal for Fire District 3 and the City of Battle Ground. Fire Marshal Drone started serving on June 1st of 2017. Fire Marshal Drone’s primary responsibilities include performing professional and technical work in the field of fire prevention, fire investigation, public education, plan review, inspections, and fire/building code enforcement. His offices are located at Station 35 and at the Department of Community Development at Battle Ground City Hall.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Chris began his professional career in 2007 where he worked as a Building Plans Examiner for the City of Vancouver. Since then, he has filled multiple roles in Community Development and Fire Prevention in Teller County Colorado and the City of Colorado Springs Fire Department. In 2013, Chris returned to Clark County where he worked as a Plans Examiner and Lead Deputy Fire Marshal.

Fire Marshal Drone holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Washington State University) and two Associates Degrees, one in Building Inspection Technology. He holds international certifications as a Fire Inspector, Building Official, and Master Code Professional. Chris is currently licensed as an Engineer and Training and is actively working toward acquiring his license as a Professional Fire Protection Engineer.

Fire Marshal Drone is currently a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, National Fire Protection Association, International Code Council, National Fire Academy Alumni Association, and Clark County Safe Schools Task Force. He also serves as a board member for the Northwest Fire Investigators Association.

Jason Mansfield

Division Chief

Started as an Intern Firefighter with Fire District 3 in 1998 and was hired by Fire District 3 in 1999.

Served as a Firefighter/EMT, Captain, Training Captain, Acting Battalion Chief. Volunteered with the Camas Fire Department. Worked for WA State Department of Natural Resources as a Wildland Firefighter.

Graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Fire Service Administration and a Minor Degree in Communications. Graduated from Portland Community College with an Associates Degree in Fire Protection Technology. Washougal High School Graduate 1992.

Served in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman from 1992-1995.

Involved with International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) through
the WA State Fire Marshal’s Office as Test Control Officer for IFSAC certifications.

Dave O’Brien

Battalion Chief

Dave O’Brien serves as Battalion Chief on B Shift. Dave’s responsibilities include Emergency Medical Services, Facilities, and the daily shift duties as a Battalion Chief.
Dave grew up in the Venersborg area and after graduating from Battle Ground High School started his career in the fire service in 1987 as a volunteer with Fire District 3. After high school, he attended and graduated from the Oregon Health Sciences University Paramedic Education Program. He went to work in Las Vegas, NV first as a field medic with American Medical Response and later as a Flight Medic for Air REACT. In 2000, Dave returned to Clark County and was the Assistant Director of North Country EMS and served as a Firefighter and Lieutenant with Clark County Fire District 13. In 2005, Dave returned to Fire District 3 to lead our Emergency Medical Services Program.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from UNLV, along with being a Washington and Nationally registered Paramedic. In 2013, Dave graduated from the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program.

Sean Smith

Battalion Chief

Sean Smith serves as Battalion Chief on C Shift. Sean’s responsibilities include Training, Prefires, and the daily shift duties as a Battalion Chief.

Sean was raised in Sweet Home, Oregon and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1992. Sean began pursuing a career in the Fire Service in 1999 by attending Portland Community College Fire Protection Technology Program. Sean became a volunteer with Fire District 11 in 2003 and was appointed as a career firefighter with Fire District 3 in 2004.

While employed as a firefighter with Fire District 3, Sean pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Concordia University. Sean worked his way through the firefighter ranks and was promoted to a Captain in 2010 and to his current position of Battalion Chief in 2015. Sean has an Associates of Science degree in Fire Protection Technology (Portland Community College) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Concordia University). He is currently pursuing the Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy.

Andrew Blomdahl

Battalion Chief

Andrew Blomdahl serves as Battalion Chief on A-Shift. Andrew’s responsibilities include Apparatus as well as daily shift duties as Battalion Chief.

Andrew grew up in Vancouver and graduated from Evergreen High School. Shortly after high school he enrolled in Portland Community College’s Fire Protection Technology program and began pursuing a career in the Fire Service. He joined Fire District 3 in 1999 as an Intern Firefighter and was hired as a career Firefighter in 2006.

Andrew worked his way through the ranks of Firefighter and was promoted to Captain in 2015. Andrew obtained an Associates of Science degree in Fire Protection Technology from Portland Community College. He was appointed to his current position of Battalion Chief in 2023.

Michelle Eisenbeis

Administrative Officer

Michelle serves as the District’s Administrative Officer. Her current duties include human resources, general accounting practices, department scheduling, and public relations. Michelle has served the citizens of Fire District 3 for over 15 years.

Michelle is a native of Clark County, growing up in Vancouver and graduating from Hudson Bay High School. She has vast experience in human resources, financial management, and business administration.

Savanna Wood

Administrative Assistant

Savanna serves as the District’s Administrative Assistant. Her current duties include public relations, accounts payable, department scheduling, and social media. Savanna has served the citizens of Fire District 3 since February of 2018.

Savanna is a native of Clark County, graduating from Skyview High School and Aveda Institute of Portland. Savanna came to Fire District 3 with previous experience in human resources, business administration, and personnel coordinating.
