Due to unseasonably dry conditions, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has raised the fire risk level from low to moderate. No significant rainfall is expected in the immediate future, which will likely result in a further increase in fire risk levels. If these conditions continue, bun restrictions will likely be put in place much sooner than the usual date of July 15.
Fire District 3 has already responded to and extinguished multiple brush fires that started as outdoor burning but got out of control due to high winds.
Please stay abreast of changing weather conditions and never burn on windy days.
