Third Annual Fire District 3 Video Contest
October is Fire Prevention Month. Historically, fire departments across the United States have used this month to educate their communities about fire safety. This dedication to fire education is why Clark County Fire District 3 is excited to announce its annual fire safety video contest.

DATES AND DEADLINES
The contest opens October 7, 2024. The deadline for submissions is November 29, 2024.
WHO CAN ENTER
You must be a student between ages 5-18 (grades K-12). Students from any district or community are welcome to participate!
STEP 1: RESEARCH AND CREATE
Students must research one of the fire safety topics listed below and creatively construct a safety video (not longer than 90 seconds) that shows them demonstrating these practices correctly. Videos may be made with a phone, video camera, computer, tablet, or any other electronic means available.
- Smoke detectors
- Home evacuation plans
- Carbon monoxide detectors
- National top causes of house fires: cooking, candles, heating, electrical

STEP 2: POST OR UPLOAD
Students with social media accounts shall upload their video to at least one of these platforms: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter. When posting videos, participants must tag Fire District 3 with the corresponding handle(s) listed below, and use the hashtag #FD3firesafety within the video description.

Not having a social media account will not impact your ability to win this contest! If you do not have social media accounts to post your video, use the free website www.WeTransfer.com to upload your video, sending it to the email zanenorris@fire3.org. No subscription is required.
STEP 3: COMPLETE THE SUBMISSION FORM
By posting or uploading a video and e-signing the form, contestants of legal age (over 18) or parents/guardians of those under 18 give consent for the videos to be used by Clark County Fire District 3 (FD3) and all FD3 approved affiliates through digital media channels, our website, and FD3-related presentations. Complete the form here.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
Only one video submission per person will be allowed. For safety reasons, NO ACTUAL FIRE OR SMOKE shall be used while filming for this contest; any submissions that include these elements will be immediately disqualified.
Winners will be determined based on using proper fire safety techniques, video/sound quality, creativity, editing, following directions, and appropriateness.

- (1 Winner) Grades 5-8: $100
- (1 Winner) Grades 9-12: $150
Selected winners will be contacted within 2 weeks from the contest conclusion date by the email and/or phone number provided on the submission form.
